ATHENS - The Athens Clarke Commission approved the fiscal 2013 budget this week. The $108-million dollar budget included roughly $800-thousand dollars in cuts.

The budget does maintain funding for a fire department ladder company on Barnett Shoals Road and night bus service for metro Athens.

The ACC also approved a $700-thousand dollar donation to the Pauldoe Housing Project.

The budget goes into effect on July 1.
