ACCPD Blotter 05/12/11

ARREST

Around 1530 May 11 officers responded to a domestic dispute at a Cole Manor Dr residence.  Contact was made with YUPHINE KOUANPHET and JEREMY JOHN LEWIS who had been in a verbal dispute which turned physical.  When KOUANPHET tried to leave, LEWIS would not allow to do so.  He also grabbed her by her wrist causing an injury to it.  Their children were present during this time.  LEWIS, 31, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery, Cruelty to Children, and False Imprisonment.  KOUANPHET went to the hospital on her own for treatment. Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a Lombardy Dr residence around 1630 May 11.  A witness saw three males placing items from her neighbors shed in their vehicle.  The victim, JESUS MARTINEZ, returned while the suspects were still there.  Two fled on foot and one stayed.  Officers were able to locate the two and returned them to the scene.  Investigation revealed they had removed a propane tank, cooking pots, and aluminum cans from the storage shed.  The total value was $120.  Arrested were JARTAVIOUS ANTONIO BELL, 19, Burkland Dr, LEKENDRIC DURANTE RAHEEM COOPER, 20, Hwy 29 N, and GEORGE LEE COOPER, 25, Burkland Dr, who were charged with Burglary.  Both COOPER’S were charged with Obstruction.  G COOPER was also charged with Possession of a Schedule I/II Substance.  L COOPER was also charged with Giving False Information.  (05-0778)

ARMED ROBBERY

RUFUS COLLINS said he heard a knock at the door of his Danielsville Rd residence around 0430 May 12.  When he opened the door, a black male pointed a gun at him and demanded his prescription meds.  The suspect made him go to his bedroom.  COLLINS said when he picked up his cell phone the suspect took it from him.  He then picked up the meds and ran to the living room.  COLLINS followed him and saw another black male standing there.  Both suspects exited the residence and ran south toward Willow Springs.  Both suspects were around 5'11".  The first suspect was 190 to 200 pounds, in his 20's, bald, armed with a silver gun.  The second male was 180 to 190 pounds, and wore a white t-shirt.  COLLINS believes he knows this suspect by his nickname.  (05-0818)

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

An attempt was made to enter an Upland Ct residence owned by DELTA REALTY, 995 Gaines School Rd, between 1700 May 5 and 1530 May 11.  (05-0769)

BURGLARY

A representative of  DELTA REALTY, 995 Gaines School Rd, reported between 1700 May 5 and 1520 May 11 an Upland Ct was burglarized.  The walls, light fixtures and mirrors were  damaged.  (05-0763)

The Highland Park Dr residence of DERRICK JEQUAVIOUS HODGE and JAN EVELYN VARNUM was burglarized between 0725 and 1545 May 11. TVs, Xbox gaming system, video games, lap top, and shoes were stolen.  The total value was $2,020.  (05-0774)

IAN JAMES LEEBENS-MACK reported his Takeda Way residence burglarized between 1230 and 1630 May 11.  An iPad  valued at $500 was stolen.  (05-0777)

Between 2200 May 11 and 0530 May 12 the Windy Hill Way residence of DARLENE WOODS was burglarized.  TVs valued at $2,200 were stolen.  WOODS was asleep at the time of the burglary and did not hear anything.  (05-0819)

ROBBERY

Around 0050 May 12 officers responded to a man down at the play ground on Hickman Dr.  They found JUSTIN LEE BROWN of Hazelwood, MO, who said he had been downtown drinking and partying.  When he came to he was on Hickman Dr.  Investigation revealed his wallet, $60, and a cell phone had been stolen.  EMS responded and transported BROWN to Athens Regional Medical Center.  A witness saw a light skinned black male, 5'9" to 5'10", 20 to 24 years of age, remove the items from BROWN'S pockets.  He was wearing a lime green shirt, grey shorts, and lime green, black and grey Nike Airmax shoes.  About 15 minutes later, several other subjects came up and "beat" on BROWN.  No descriptions were given of these suspects.  (05-0811)
