ACCIDENT W/FATALITY

Around 1215 October 10 ANGELA ELLINGTON, 48, Maysville, driving a 2003 Ford Focus, was southbound on Commerce Rd. Near Bob Holman Rd the ELLINGTON vehicle hydro-planed while negotiating a curve and spun out of control. It crossed into the northbound lane and struck a northbound 2008 Dodge Dakota driven by HALEY DODD, 19, Commerce. ELLINGTON and the front seat passenger, PRISCILLA MATHIS, 57, Commerce, died at the scene. The back seat passenger in the ELLINGTON vehicle, SANDRA BAGGETT, 26, Columbus, and DODD were transported to Athens Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. No charges have been filed pending completion of the investigation. (10-0755)

SALE OF ALCOHOL TO UNDER 21

On October 7 a series of enforcement checks were conducted by the Alcohol Compliance Unit. Three subjects were cited for Selling Alcohol to Under 21:

BURGLARY

The shop at JENNINGS MILL COUNTY CLUB, 410 Commerce Blvd, Bogart, was burglarized between 1200 October 9 and 0630 October 10. A golf cart valued at $3,500 was stolen but later recovered in Oconee County. (10-0726)

LASHAWN ROSHYNE GAUGHNS reported her Bailey St residence burglarized between 1900 October 9 and 0900 October 10. A TV, lap top, computer monitor, and video game system were stolen. The total value was $2,400. (10-0736)

Between 0530 and 1215 October 10 the Bridgewater Cir residence of JEFFREY GRISSOM was burglarized. Video game system with games and a TV were stolen. The total value was $860. (10-0751)

A vacant Mission Dr residence owned by CLARENCE PASS of Atlanta was burglarized sometime prior to 1700 October 10. The interior walls and ceilings had been damaged in order to remove copper wiring estimated to be valued at $1,000. The damage was estimated at $2,000. An officer on patrol discovered the damage. THEFT BY TAKING

An air conditioner unit valued at $3,000 was stolen from a Glendale Hgts residence owned by PAMELA AZEVEDO of Colbert. The theft occurred between 1800 October 5 and 1500 October 8 but was not reported until October 10. (10-0744)

Between 1700 September 1 and 1415 October 10 fuel level probes valued at $4,500 were stolen from NORWOOD FOOD MART, 115 Ila Rd. (10-0760)

Around 1345 October 10 an officer on patrol discovered an air conditioner condenser valued at $3,000 stolen from a vacant Maple Forge Dr residence. Contact was made with the owner, TIMOTHY NATHAN FOWLER of Oxford, who advised the theft had to have occurred since 1700 September 30. (10-0761)

Officers also discovered another air conditioner unit valued at $3,000 stolen from a Maple Forge Dr residence owned by VIRGIL RADFORD. The theft occurred between 1200 September 28 and 1445 October 10. (10-0764)

BRIAN YOUNG, of SE REALTY, said the resident of a Herring St property told him the air conditioning was not working. When he checked on it, he discovered the unit had been damaged when copper wiring and the coil, estimated value $1,000, had been stolen. This occurred between 2200 October 9 and 0800 October 10.
