ATHENS - Mario Westbrook's denial of guilt is rejected by the Georgia Supreme Court. In 2008, Westbrook was convicted of fatally shooting Stacy Jefferies after a fight broke out during a craps game.
He received a sentence of life pus 75 years in prison.
Westbrook's lawyer said his client acted in self-defense, shooting the men as they were reaching for their weapons.
But, according to a decision released Monday, the justices say the evidence of Westbrook's guilt is overwhelming.
