ATHENS - Officials in Athens-Clarke County want control of the T-SPLOST money that voters will consider next month, if it's approved.
State law calls on the Georgia Department of Transportation to manage projects funded by the regional one percent sales tax.
But the Athens-Clarke County Public Works Director says with more than a thousand projects to be funded statewide, GDOT is turning some over to local governments.
